“Progress and motion are not synonymous”
– Tim Fargo –
Among the many components setting The Lakehouse Recovery Center apart from other typical drug rehabs, are the integrative activities we incorporate within our client’s overall treatment processes. We have seen firsthand the added benefits in this regard with respect to not only length of sobriety, but more importantly, quality of sobriety.
By integrating a variety of recovery and non recovery-based activities, we are able to dramatically broaden the scope of effectiveness in terms of physical, emotional and mental growth. Equally important is the element of simply relearning how to have fun in life without the use of mind-altering substances. In example, we recently had a press release published about our program attending Tiger Wood’s recent Northwestern Mutual Golf Tournament here in Westlake Village, CA – we invite you to read it here.
Many of the activities we offer entail a recovery undertone in one way or another. Whether it’s a matter of building trust, pushing physical boundaries, gaining appreciation for your surroundings or anything of the like, we believe that having fun can often embody opportunities for growth. And since treatment from chemical dependency requires an in-depth shift in how we live, it all factors in the broad equation. Some of the many activities within our program consist of:
- Equine Therapy *
- Horseback Riding *
- Surf Therapy
- Rock Climbing
- Bass Fishing
- Holistic Activities
- Fitness (gym membership included)
- Evening Outings
- and more…
* Our program now offers a very special and unique type of equine therapy that has actually been featured on the show “Dr. Phil.” It is located at the nearby Foxfield Horse Training and Riding School which, is literally a stone’s throw from The Lakehouse. In utilizing a specially designed program called “Stand In Balance” we are able to incorporate this one-of-a-kind equine experience in a manner that incorporates spiritual, emotional & physical growth techniques while experiencing the joy of connecting with these amazing horses.
