Cocaine and Alcohol Drove Me Into Residential Treatment

An LHRC employee describes how cocaine and alcohol abuse drove him into rehab and how his new found life in sobriety-recovery is going today…

Being in recovery has been instrumental in turning my life around for the better. Before I entered The Lake House Recovery Center here in Ventura County, I was a hardcore cocaine and alcohol abuser. Cocaine gave me that release that I needed to escape reality. Night after night I would be out until the wee hours of the morning, just trying to feel comfortable with myself and extinguish my social anxiety. At the end of my seven year run of alcoholism and three year stint with cocaine, I thought I had nowhere to turn. I was kicked out of my house, disowned by family and friends, and jobless. I felt completely lost and at the mercy of my addiction.

Nine months Later, my family and I have a beautiful relationship, I have rekindled old friendships, and I am a full time student attending Oxnard College to become a certified drug and alcohol abuse counselor. I even have a job working at the Lakehouse! Working with other addicts brings me a feeling of satisfaction and peace unlike anything I have ever experienced in my life, and for the first time in a long time, I am truly happy

Thank You Stuart and thank you to all of you who have supported me through the addiction recovery process!
